love the idea of the sun, was so much easier for me to practise metta this way and dropping the words. I ended up considering I and we all are enough. this was very helpful and very unifying.

Q after some lovely metta and sunshine, surprisingly I then felt..what was the point in anything as we won't be here one day. that sounds a bit negative and it surprised me as it was a feeling that came out of positive feelings!

I was on a cruise ship filled with flowers and sunlight, with all the waiters etc. playing and drinking coffee, being waited on by devas and gods… 💛

Q with the difficult person I feel like a kind of heat that makes me want to move away. Sometimes I say to myself: that’s me. (Ie the thing I’m reacting to in the other person is actually aspects of me but also that we are all part of one whole livingness) but I still want to move away

Q_ Is there a risk of featuring too much in the visualisation in stages 2 onwards. I had to hold back from interfering.

I found lots of people just joined along in my meditation, and I had to ask them to wait for a few minutes till the last stage.
Sometimes I have problems with the first person. Then the meditation is difficult . What can I do?
I agree that this would dilute the attention.

Yes, I was playing chess with my mum in the first stage… and then the neutral person came in and I had them playing oo…. But I remembered Sangharakshita saying that you can only really communicate with one person at a time, so my mum moved to a sofa, and I concentrated on Jean instead…
love the idea of playing chess! might try that :)
Q. I find visualisations hard to conjure up. The mind keeps going back to everyday reality,where I and the people that come to mind actually live. Is there a way round this?

I had my Mum too, we were playing a board game too! The neutral person did join us but we went off to walk in Kew Gardens together and then with difficult person too so we all walked together
I think that you can do whatever works for you. Not everyone can visualise, particularly to order.

Yes, my daughter came in third, and she didn’t’t want to play chess, or talk, or anything…. So she just warmed up in the sunshine and tulips…. And then she moved to the sofa and was cuddled by her grannie…

I found sometimes I get distracted by people who I have a bit of irritation with. Today I just decided to let theminto the practice a bit rather than pushing away
Q how do we feel at peace with feeling things are often pointless as we won't be here one day. sometimes this is a comfort as makes things not feel serious.. sometimes it can feel the opposite. this came up out of nowhere during this practise after feeling a real feeling of positivity..;)
