21 day challenge: Learn to Meditate - Shared screen with speaker view
Who can see your viewing activity?
morning! from Hackney 💚🌞
Verbal prompt would be useful for me x
Q Who is the poem by?
Carole Ann Duffy
thank you very much
Beautiful so sorry got to go
That was lovely
Thank you that was great
Really connected to that meditation, thank you again.
that was amazing. I thought that my breath now is that first breath I took at the moment of my birth
Thank you for the week. That was lovely.
I really enjoyed combining the two types of meditation, thank you!
Q hello yesterday you spoke of the meta being a prism with five lights coming from it one being compassion I wondered what the other four wre? enjying the mediation thank you Hellen
Q: I really enjoyed the deeper explanation around Meta at the start. Can you recommend any books to learn more about the Meta practice, Thanks!
Q the last 3 days i have not been tired but find myself nodding off
thank you your advice much appreciated have a lovely day x
Wonderful meditation, thank you.
Thanks so much. It was great combining the two practices in a deliberate way.
What is the poem called?
My neighbour, whom I considered family, collapsed in front of me last night and is in hospital as it was a stroke. When I went to the heart, I cried during the meditation. Q: What would you do if this happened?
Q: Would you have tips for what type of meditation practice you would do for different times of the day (just after waking up, just before going to sleep)
Cant make the last session live tomorrow morning but this three weeks has been awesome, thank you so much for doing this.
Q when the LBC run normal meditations outside of the challenge, do they have the poems and discussion? really enjoying that aspect. thanks!
any daily tips to work with the mood swings ? with the brain generating negative thoughts ?
Q - I actually found that session with mixing up the two types of meditation really difficult, I've become more used to the set format. Is it beneficial to work on flexibility with practise in this way?
Can you post the donation link again please
not a question but more of a reflection on the fruits of practice. I really resonated with the poem, particularly with the “small familiar pain” as I’ve had a very strong sense of nostalgia all week (outside of sitting practice) that I’ve found very comforting and intriguing
Q; Did you do stages 3 and 4 of the metta bharavna? Im not sure if I was totally here throughout or not. I felt very distracted at the beginning and then all I remember was metta towards myself then and friend, then everyone
Q: I often find pleasant feelings distracting - almost trying to grab a hold of the feeling, and then I lose my attention on the breath. I’d like to be able to welcome the pleasant experiences without getting too distracted. Any tips?
Deepest practice for me yet - my bodily sensation seemed outside of my body and very spaciest, and didn’t correlate to my posture - could have happily remained there for some time
Q I'll really miss the community and teaching that I've enjoyed so much during the three weeks, what tips do you have to support us going forward on our meditation journey?
What percentage of your meditations.. do you get into a deep state and quiet mind? At the moment id say 50% of my meditations are bliss and 50% I have a lot of background chatter and can’t seem to get into a deep state
I feel like ive really been able to drop quite deep this week in particular
Zoom user Jane Lord
thank you for a lovely meditation have a good day everyone
how do you carry the peace experienced during meditation into the rest of the day especially if you come across a hurtful situation ?
I liked the poem too (and the poetry aspect of the meditations). I liked the way prayer was the thread through all of the routine activities described in the poem. A nice thought: to live in prayer.
Q I’ve been having vivid dreams over the past week, do you think perhaps this could be a result of the meditation practise and have you heard of this happening to others before?
q: can we say that meta is about cultivation of heart and mindfulness of breathing about the brain at least that's how I fell
'Meditation' by Kamalashila
you rebel haha
Thank you! These weeks, so generously given, are life changig
Thank you for your gentle guidance, once again.
I found this practice very powerful today, much deeper than previously. I think I could have happily stayed there all day. Thankyou so much
how can you time yourself when there is no one to do it for you?
There is a good app called insight timer
I use an app called Insight - you can set interval bells
thank you .. this sent me to a much deeper place .. painful but AMAZING
such valuable insight
thank you for guidance, explanations, knowledge- lovely from Monika 🌞
Thank you for a lovely start to the day.
thanks for tip about insight app👍
insight timer is a great app
Q. Firstly Thank you so much for another wonderful way to change up and use the stages to mediate in a different way today. When breathing should you just use the breath in and out of the nose or do you inhale through nose and exhale through the mouth ? I’d like to be practicing the breath work the right way to fully experience deep meditation . Thank you
im also now using the London bhuddist centre youtube page...so many wonderful meditations on there
Thank you so much. This has been a wonderful three weeks. Thank you Callum for connecting us on Zoom.
Really enjoyed that meditation, combining the two practices let me go much deeper today. Unfortunately this is my last day on the challenge as I am working all day tomorrow. But I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole challenge and am thankful for the guidance, wisdom and discussions I have had. Lovely to be part of a community, and I wish you all the best for the future :)
Thanks very much, that was a powerful session.
thank you very much for all the meditation classes so far . really grateful towards the guidance , knowledge and growth 🙏🏽
Thank you so much, thanks for these three weeks of meditation and lovely connection with people, hearts and minds
I found the description of allowing all your weight to push down into the chair and floor really allowed me to release that gripping tension in my legs, and was easy to come back to. Thanks for the week.

thank you very much it was wonderful and day to day much better
Q: is it normal to hold some tone in the belly? When I breathe out my stomach naturally moves in. How do we distinguish between tension and relaxed tone?
Natalia Franklin Pierce
Q/O good reminder not to hold onto PLEASURABLE experiences as well as BAD ones 😊 from Monika

Slack lounge says I need an invitation from the workspace administrator…
Yes. I find it uncomfortable that my breath changes so much when I focus on it. The Eisenberg principle sys that all things change (even atoms) when you observe them, so there’s no getting away from it, it seems.
Amazing!! So happy to hear it!
that is fantas
Thats wonderful news! Well done all :)
fantastic , wow 😱🙏🏽
whoop whoop!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
