Q: I find that I hold some soft muscle tone in my belly to feel comfortable sitting and also to breathe (especially when breathing out). When I really relax my belly it feels uncomfortable and makes breathing hard. Is it natural or ok to not completely relax the belly? And if you think I should keep trying to relax, do you have any tips?

Iwona Lokwenc
01:08:24
q: how to get more grounded in the chair and feet?
Vito
01:08:51
Q. you are right..didnt want to leave especially last few minutes in just sitting, after some distractions before. are we allowed to dwell? how to best resume when in deep state to avoid some sort of shock perhaps?
Bryony Hewer
01:09:06
Thank you for a great week
Lisa C
01:09:13
I really enjoyed that- thank you. I was in an IT development group this week and mentioned I’d just heard “The Trees” and they sent it to all as their “poem of the week”. :-)
Caroline Wilson
01:09:22
I found that really relaxing. Seemed to drift off altogether sometimes. Seemingly completely unaware at points. Very spaced out in places. Images came and went - mainly cats. And at one point my cat seemed to me to be both on my lap and an awareness of him on the sofa at the same time. Thoughts came in and out of my mind which I was not sure were things that had actually happened, or were imagined. Like I lost a sense of what was real and what was not.
Lorne Brown
01:09:42
Thank you. Found that much easier to do and relax my mind. Very calming. I realise I am always looking for the next thing to do and always wish I could stop doing that. I think.that is why I enjoyed this so much, a revelation!

I did find the just sitting practice somewhat more difficult (mind bouncing around) but I brought in some elements from the yoga practice, like breathing into the body and letting the quiet in. thank you!
Caroline Wilson
01:10:37
Thank you so much for all the meditation this week. It has been amazing
Kate Keara Pelen
01:10:43
Q felt more physical stillness than usual but the mind was sort of split between awareness and commentary / analysis of the experience. How to reassure the active pole it will be used again soon?
Christine Hendry
01:10:56
Found I got into a peaceful place more easily with a less structured practice. Thank you so much for a lovely week x
Jus Marl
01:11:01
I was able to use the 'let go of the seat' advice from previously. It felt so expansive during that, panoramic, grand vista, light and, well, just great in general... Thank you 💚
Ania Dubert
01:11:11
Thank you for all the meditation this week.
Vanessa Mead
01:11:12
found it difficult to just sit, my mind was active and jumping around a bit and impatient. when I am focusing on my breathing I find it easier to control my mind so I went back to this and experiencing the body which helped quieten and relax me.
Stephanie Youmans
01:11:29
What you said about the paintings in a gallery at the beginning was really useful :)

Thank you. I feel immense gratitude to you, Callum and all of the people who have led and supported this course. Knowing that there have been so many participants also reassures me about wholesomeness and good intention in the world. The course has given me many new ways of living to explore.
Lisa C
01:14:11
Q. My question was Is it too distracting to keep your eyes open when “just sitting”? I feel I’d like to look out of the window or does this defeat the object?
Ani
01:14:37
Thank you Prajnamanas and Callum for your time and gentle presence this week - it's been absolutely wonderful. :)
Varsha Nichani
01:14:55
Q : just sitting - do we let go of following the breath? if your body starts hurting _ do we try to focus on the breath again and sooth it?
Sansel
01:15:04
Q: yesterday merging mindfulness & meta & today felt really warming! is this because I'm improving after a week of practice? or these styles encourage deeper peace?
Gurpal Bansal
01:15:56
Q. I throughly enjoyed this more open practice of sitting today and this week with your guidance and chats at the end of the class have been very interesting and enjoyable. My body felt heavy and I sat in comfort. My Question about the practice of mindfulness for breathing with meta and sitting which has been a lovely journey is that you mentioned at the start of the meditation to feel where you are sat in the room and to bring all your attention to the body at that present time . As I’m spiritual person and from Indian decent I do follow energy systems , could this meditation be a gateway or form to reach cosmic energy as well ? I know this is a different practice and I’m not trying to mix my learning but be interesting to know your view point on this .. Thank you 🙏🏽
Alessandra Pani
01:16:41
Thanks again. I am very grateful. Stay safe everyone.
Caroline Hetherton
01:17:25
Thank you for a wonderful three weeks of practice!
Eleanor Ryan
01:17:32
I found the meditation wonderful. During ‘just sitting’ I had lots of overlapping images, music, scenarios coming to mind. I found that I kept actively ‘switching off’ these thoughts, letting them go. I ended up with myself becoming a ‘part’ of the landscape. Like an old piece of natural stone, part of a landscape. This seemed to help me to just ‘be’ for moments.
Jus Marl
01:19:20
Eleanor, that feels extremely similar to my experience. You expressed it better👌🏾

01:19:51
thank you for all you have done. I find it hard to quantify what I have gained each day, yet I have a sense of great loss now thinking this is the end of this practice.

Anna Doran
01:23:44
what are your thoughts on the likes of headspace? would the meditations be very different to the ones we have been doing?
Thea Gordon-Rawlings
01:24:15
if you’re practising by yourself, what’s the best way to know when to move between the different stages? I’m thinking that a series of alarms on my phone would be quite unsettling!
