Q. Thank you so much Maitreyabandhu and all. I have a chronic illness and have been bed bound for most of the last year, I am recovering but it’s been very bumpy and slow. Can I cultivate a sense of fulfilment even whilst I have poor health and mobility, and if so, how?

Manuela Fernandes
01:12:32
question: how do you deal with mind drift during meditation? how should your breath be?
Anne Morton
01:12:32
Q Because I live alone, and finding it's difficult, I'm not sleeping well. And I start to doze off in meditation! I find this disconcerting - especially when I start to dream - it wasn't the poem :) - it was happening on the winter online retreat.

Q: I have encountered the technique of mental noting in other meditation and mindfulness teachings, as a way of creating space between oneself and experience — is this used in traditional buddhist forms of meditation/in Triratna? I always found it had the danger of falling to that over-analytic aloofness you describe — trying to assign a word to direct experience — but found it could also help to bring the awareness back and create space in the mind if used softly.

I love the idea of "empathic awareness" - it takes away notions of guilt, and "should". Thanks for a great insight
Tamsin Cowell
01:21:52
If I may, could I make a suggestion for the audio... Maybe tech team could check that 'Original sound' option is turned off? And maybe check options to do with background noise suppression. (allow auto background noise suppression) All these options are in the microphone menu>audio settings. The audio seems to be focussing in on background noise when Maitreyabandhu is not speaking, which then sometimes causes a delay in focussing on speaker audio. This may be cause of slightly muffled speaker sound. I am no expert but I teach music online so have come across these problems myself !
Sam McGovern - Dublin
